The hyper-threaded CPU's are just as good as the other ones, it just makes the system believe that you are running two CPU's instead of one. Unfortunately, it will take time once again for software to catch up to the technology before you see any real benefit and a lot of current benchmarks show when Hyper-Threading is enabled, it can actually slow the system down a bit. Although my cost on the new CPU is almost $1100CDN, I already have one sold and I'm actually getting a lot of people looking for quotes just to get the Hyper-Threading. Well... personally, I would wait. Intel plans to slow the CPU Mhz growth this year and you will begin seeing HT CPU's at lower Mhz (more affordable) in the new year.

Wrong person to ask..... AMD makes a decent processor...but I am very Intel biased.
