Asus A7N8X & A7N8X DELUXE??

OK. I want the new Asus A7N8X mobo, but heres my problem. I just found out asus makes two models of this board. HERE is a link to the two mobos on newegg. Just to make sure I'm reading this right, the regular A7N8X is the same as the deluxe just w/out all the extra goodies such as Serial ATA, Onboard Lan, Firewire, onboard sound, and that seems to be it. This stuff I have no need for. I have a sound card and Netcard. I wouldn't use the serial ATA or firewire (or atleast I don't think I would). I'm just double checking that I'm reading this all correctly. Also I noticed it only has a 8X AGP slot and says 1.5v ONLY! So does that mean I couldn't use a 4xAGP video card on it? I saw that and pulled back from ordering my new video card b/c I'm afraid the 4x won't work on this board and I'll have to go w/the 8x. The regular A7N8X is about $30 cheaper and the price looks good to me. What are everyones thoughts?

NOTE: I Definetly want this ASUS board, just trying to make up my mind which model. So please do not say Epox or some other brand.

Hi Jeradln82,

I look at it this way, even if there is a remote chance of needing any of the Deluxe feature, go with the Deluxe. If you need a Firewire port, it'll cost you at least $30. If you want to network or go to a LAN party, you'll spend another $30 for a couple of NICs. And, depending on the age of your sound card, the on-board sound may even sound better!

When I bought my A7V333 about a year ago, I went with the "deluxe" version for the same reasoning. My next mobo will be the A7N8X, and I'll go Deluxe there, too.

As for as the 1.5V thing.... I can remember off hand, but aren't most 4x 1.5V?? I'm sure someone will post with a more difinitive answer...

Deluxe versione, there being other diffs betwixt the two mobos.
Such as better sound, sATA, and dual nics and on and on...
