Keys on laptop not working, possible reasons?
I have a laptop that I am working on and I wanted to get some of your suggestions on what might be the reason why a couple keys don't work. Primarily the "Del" key and the "Backspace" Key. The backspace key will work but sometimes it takes a short while to react to stike of the key. I've used a air can to blow any particles out. Any other suggestions folks? TIA

The keyboard is probably worn out, the contacts on those keys are probably bent from too much pounding.

GLC,
Are keypads easy to replace on laptops? It is a Compaq. I know I will have to ship it out. |

my dad has a HP and random keys on his keyboard went out and unlike mac laptops the keyboard is a bitch to get out. He just used a usb keyboard until he could send it in for repair... good luck

I connected an external keyboard and tested the key's that were in question and they work fine w/ the external keyboard. That will conclude me to say that the laptop keyboard needs replaced. Case solved. Thanks!
