Help Creative Audigy2 Platinum

I have just purchased a Audigy2 Platinum Sound Card and fitted it nice set up, but when I try to use it one click of the mouse and lock up (restart needed)
I have checked the device manager the there are no conflicts there that can been seen I have started removing some of the software but nothing changes what can i do ???

Gigabite 7vaxp Ultra (Main Board)
Gigabite Radeon 9000 pro (Graphics Card)
512 DDR
BT Internet

Hi Webbie48,

Did you disable the onboard sound? If you were using a different sound card before, did you uninstall all the software first?

Hi Two Rails
This is a new build first build for me, every thing was working ok untill the sound card went in ( I think) works ok when the sound software is removed yes I did disable the soud on the card
The os is XP I thought that would have sorted out any conflicts

HI Webbie48,

Try removing the card and uninstall all related software, and see what actually works. Some motherboards require jumpers to be physically set as well as BIOS settings to enable / disable items, and, since I've been bit on this, I'd double check the owners manual on disabling the onboard sound.

If the system boots OK without the sound card, try playing a movie, the video should still work. Also, check in the Device Manager to see if there are any problems there.

Once everything is looking good, reinstall the sound card, but use a different slot, away from the video card.
