Question MP3 PC DJ set-up

A freind and I have been racking our brains trying to put together a laptop based MP3 DJ set-up. Below is a list of the hardware that we have. Also, if anyone knows of some good software for this application or forums out there that would be great.

The goal is to build a laptop based DJ station with one or two soundcards so that we can play one song while cueing another.

Equipment:

One laptop
One mini-tower
Amp and other equipment.

Can't say that I'm real framiliar with the software involved, but check AudioTools DJ section. Looks to have plenty of ideas for what you are looking for.

Well i was at a bar the other night and i noticed the DJ useing a Laptop, so i asked him what his setup was and he told me that he had a 100gig external Hard Drive Full of all Mp3's and he brings that and his laptop to the places he is DJing and plugs the output from the laptop soundcard to the bar's "House" amp or "PA" and he's off!! Said he's done gigs where he's seen the other DJ's luggin in crates of CD's and all he has is his laptop and 100gig External HDD full of Mp3's!! That has to be alot easier, the sound was awsome too, the Mp3's sounded great through the "PA". Didnt see what he was useing for an Mp3 player tho..

Hope this help's in some way!!!!!

This certainly is interesting. I've only seen one DJ that has done this. All the others I've seen fumble around with CD's.
