for comparison, I just picked up a MAG 17" at Best Buy for $89 after rebates. It's my second one from there. Even my neighbor picked one up.

I can get reconditioned 17" for $99 CDN, should work out to be about $55 US. Shipping around $20, so I could send you one (tested and guaranteed for 90 days), for about $75 US.
I have a spare 15" you can have for $50 US, including shipping, and a 14" you can have for $40.

The KDS XF 17 Flat CRT sells for $129.99 at your local Walmart and has excellent bright colrs and really clear definition with no edge distortion.

In the last couple of months I have seen about a dozen of those 17" KDS monitors on new builds. They look alot better than their price would indicate. There are a lot of monitors out there for two or three times the price that don't look any better.

Have a friend that just got the Samtron that traaman mentioned. He got it at Best Buy for $129 with a $50 rebate. Quite an impressive monitor for the price.

I believe glc said Samtron is Samsung's "value line" and they're not bad.
