Talking Question of the day...

Ok,

I'm upgrading my current computer's memory but wanted to know wether this upgrade help with the speed of image editing and digital design? (photoshop, fireworks, etc) My friend is running 300something megs of RAM, and yet it's still a very slow and painful process to edit large resolution pics on his comp. My question is then; What should he have to update to make the whole image editing process quicker?

- Upgrade the RAM (I beleive it's 333)
- Upgrade the HD (Currently 8MB...Maybe faster rpm?)
- Upgrade the video card? (Something that came with it when he bought it a year ago, so nothing advanced)
- Upgrade the processor (Currently it's in the 800-dish)

Which one of these is holding it back?

Thanks a lot!

upgrading the ram will always help, but with a slow cpu it will still be a slow system for what you want to do
if your mb will suport it go to 512 of ram

and get the fastest cpu that you can use in your mb
and the best video card would also help a lot

From first to last in order of upgrade:

1. More RAM
2. Newer Video card with more Video RAM.
3. 7200 RPM ATA100 Hard Drive with a controller card if the motherboard does not support ATA100.
4. Faster CPU
