round ide cables are really only necissary if you have a hard time routing your flats and you need to cut back on blockage for ventilation and heat issues, or, if you have a window in the side or a clear case and they just look cool. i made my own rounded ide's with some spiral wrap

I cut up one of my 80 pin IDE cables and electrical taped it together.

i read somewhere that they dont have as good data transfer and they have electronic interference problems, though ive seen some with ground leads to counter this

and where i live they are about £11 each, thats about £35 for new cables

Can anyone actually produce a link saying that rounded IDE cables cause data corruption?

lil Jimmie,
I have an Audigy, but I did not go for the platinum edition, and I regret it. Do you know if there is any way I can purchase the front controls for the 5.25 drive bay by itself?

Wow, lil Jimmie! Those prices are outrageous! Newegg is selling the Audigy card, plus software/gameports/etc, as well as the external drive for $156 (the entire platinum package), while that link is selling just the external drive for $169!! For that price I'll just stay happy with my Audigy card! Thanks for the link anyway, though.

Yep. I just picked up some flat balck camo paint and masking tape. Then I took off the bezel, masked out the grill and sprayed it with a couple of coats. Then I took gold acrylic paint and painted in the "Antec" recess of the port covers. I think the two tone colors just look a lot better than the flat beige. My next project is to paint a picture of some kind on the side panels, but i don't know what I want to paint on it.

Here's my latest build which I'm still trying to tidy up a bit. The lighting and the web cam are a little poor however.

You're still trying to tidy that up?? Man, if my cabling was half as good as that I'd be overjoyed.
