Hey GSXdan,

The front of that case is pretty interesting...are the CD-RW and DVD "stealthed" behind those blue bay covers? Do those drive tray covers flip out of the way when the eject button is hit?

Yes they are stealth covers. Those white/beige drives are covered, so that is a great feature. I had never heard of the brand before, but i read some reviews and they seemed to be good, so i bought it. It was $65 w/o PS, and it was a good buy. It came w/ 2 80mm fans, and the air flow is great. Idle temps are around 35C, and ~40-44 full load. That is with retail heatsink and fan. A nice feature of the case is a turbo button, which increases the fan speed when you press it, for gaming or high load apps.

I think im gonna stick with the chieftech matrix i was planning on before, it seems to have more protection for the drives, and looks like power supply will be easier to install.
but thats an awesome looking case, that I might get if I ever et to be a better builder

How much harder would it be to mount the power supply, and drives in the platinum XP
http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProduc...126-102&depa=0

than in this chieftech
http://www.directron.com/amx01bld.html

pictures of the inside can be viewed from links at each of these products.

THANKS

illphil,
i wouldnt worry about that, get the case you want with a good psu, thats all you need, it doesnt matter how long it takes you to mount the psu. its when ur done and you have that big smile that you made the right choice.

hey boss thanks for the advice. My main concern was that the platinum XP didn't seem to have the same support for the power supply and drives as the chieftec. I don't know what if anything I would need to buy extra, or learn how to do to make them supported.

i am going to keep them both in the running but I think I am gonna go with the chieftech, its ble color matches the blue lights a would put in it, and it looks pretty cool+ it has a fan slot in window for a blue led fan /w coll faceplate. Unless something majorly amazing comes out about the Platinum XP I will get the chieftec.

Dont worry about installing the PS, it was really easy. What you might not be able to see if a little horizontal support for the PS that holds it up. I havent installed many PS's, but this was very simple. It has great support for drives also, although it could be a little better for HD space, it is still fine.

dont worry it'll be a while
dont have the money i need yet, and purchase isn't final.
also dont have dig. cam but I really dont think that will be the problem since i probably could get hold of one from a friend of mine

-and it will probably be one of those messy ones that have wires all over the place since im going with flat ribbons instead of round ones.

$40? Not much you can do with $40 these days, some minor case mods i guess. Could probably just save up for some more RAM.
