Boom graphic card powers down my computer

please help,
my graphic card works fine on my computer in windows 98/me but when i upgrade to xp pro the monitor powers down and shuts down my computer?
the card is a sparkle geoforce2 mx 64mg with a belkin monitor

Hi bunnyb,

Need more info...what kind of PC is this, home built or store bought name brand?

What are the system specs?

What brand and wattage is the power supply?

Did you upgrade over Win98/ME or did you do a format and clean install of WinXP?

dell demension 4100
384meg sdram(133)
1 gig p3 coppermine chip
sparkle g2 400 mmx 64meg

but does same with my athlon 750
abit 7ta mobo
300 watt supply
dvd rom
hp writer
30 gig hard drive(maxtor 5600)

only does it in windows xp though
98 and ME are fine

clean install of xp forgot to say
latest drivers from nvida as well
