Unhappy Help please with USB

Woundering if anyone can help me. I just got a new case and I took my old HP computer and trasfered everything into the new case. Now the problem is that my USB from the back thats connected to the Motherboard does not work I have a AMD athlon with 1.2 Gz with 640 MB. This was my first time doing this and I hope I didnt do anything wrong. I also bought a new power supply. Also I should mention that while mounting the motherborad on to the new case I attached the motherborad right on to the case (BIG MISTAKE also please keep inmind that im a noobie at this thanks). That mistake blow my first powersupply I bought, so I bought a new power supply then correctly mounted the motherboard (my cousin showed my how)
I connected everything then started the computer everything worked except for the USB. Also the case that I got has USB connection in the front as well. Im still trying to get that to work. If any1 can help me out i will really appreciate it thank you.

Hi Tony, welcome to the PC Mech forums!

How are the current USB connectors on the motherboard? Are they attached to the back and they don't fit in the backplate?

They are attacted to the motherboard and it fits in the faceplate just fine. Also in windows in the decive manager it say that the USB controllers are all working fine.

My mistake, I thought you meant they didn't fit in the new case. Did the ports work before you changed cases?

for the usb ports in the case you have to find the headers on the board,if you have any, which i doubt you do with the hp motherboard.do you have a manual for the motherboard it should say in there where they are

I tranfered everything but the power supply. Both USB worked fine before. have two in the back and like my old case I have two in the front. The two in the front im not sure how to plug them in because my computer manual doesnt say anything about my motherboard. I do have headers which where attached to the front usb from my old case. I tried playing around with them but cant seem to get them to work on the new case
