CD Writer problems

Hi there,

Can somebody help me with my CD/RW. I have tried to load Nero 5.1version but just before it finishes coping the files a message comes up with internal error 2103.48, and stops me from loading the software.

I have had the the thing working or the computer shop has, but I messed up abit and had to reloaded windows 98. Everything else is working fine and I can use the CD writer but I am just unable to load the software to do any copying.

The writer is a cyberdrive CW038D if thats any help. If there is anyone who can help please reply as though you are to talking to a novice, cause I am.

Hi Yossa

there may be old nero files on your PC, try using add remove programs in the control panel to remove Nero. After that use the start/find files & folders to search for anything to do with Ahead Nero. If any are found remove them. reboot computer and try reloading Nero. If ok go to the Nero website and download the newest version which i think is 5.5.5.9. Hope this helps

There are files when I searched in folders so I have deleted them and I am just going to try and reload Nero. Let you know how I get on.

Back again,

I tried to re-install but it has come up with the same message internal error 2103.48.

Have you Doug or anybody else know of anything else that I can try.

I had a similar problem a while back and went to Ahead's site and downloaded the latest demo and it still works fine. Still don't know why it would install but from the disk it wouldn't.

Thanks I will try it, but the shop did load from disc only last week. I just dont want to go back just yet cause he will laugh when I do.
To tell you the truth so would I. If there are any other ideas while I download, please post.
