need good temp meter for abit kd7 mobo

my dad just bought an abit kd7 mobo
athlon 1800xp processor, ati radeon 7000 I installed win2000, divided (old 10 gig) hd in a ntfs c: partition and fat32 d: partition
since its self-assembled id like to have a good and stable temperature meter.
on my own ecs duron 800 ive been using vcool for a few years and i like it very much. Can anyone tell me if vcool will also work on the new mobo (ive read some things about system lock ups with the
"NB cooling bit enabled" , dont want that on my dads pc)
Is there a better (free) temp meter around? its quite a bugger having to reboot and go to bios each time i want to check temps , which i do quite often the first days after assembly. (i havent even closed the case yet)

wow that was a fast response :-)
thanks again edge345, you ve been helping me out quite a lot lately i must say.
BTW about that pc from my last post, i tried those drivers this afternoon, and the audio seems to work ok, but the video drivers didnt work, even tried by manual install. i asked someone to take a look at the fine print from the mobo and the chipset says sis 900 sis'98 pdk1208 0019cn
whe looking on google i first got nic drivers, but the pc doesnt have a nic
after a while i found some drivers for an "integrated video card" ill try those next.
again thaks for the help, i owe you one:-)
