drives
going to set up my drives as follows,
primary 1dee hdd master, dvd slave secondary idee cdrw master, ill boot os from cdrw then change bios to boot from hdd. is this way ok? sam |

I have seen it suggested here from many that it is not optimal configuration to share Harddrives and optical drives on the same IDE channel.

I would put the HDD on IDE1 and the two opticals on IDE2.
As for booting, I would go: floppy, CD, HDD. It'll run fine the way you have it, but if you really want to get optimial performance, go ahead and change it.
