case fans

I know that this might be a really dumb question, but where do case fans plug into? The power supply, or the motherboard? How do they plug in, if there are multiple fans? I bought a case, and there are three case fans inside of it, however, there is no instructions on where to plug them into.

It's better if you plug them to the PSU using the molex connectors.

That's what I thought... but I don't know if there is going to be a free lead to plug it into the power supply?....

eventually that Y connector is going to have to plug into the power supply.... I see the mainboard connector, the connector that P4 boards use (not going to be used though), optical drive connectors, hard drive disk connectors, and two three pin connectors (which I am assuming are both floppy connectors or 3.5 inch drive connectors), then there is a P8 connector......

so which one will I have to plug the Y connector into?

Optical drives and HDs connectors are the same. They are the molex connectors, if I recall correctly.

It doesn't matter how they are called, you plug the fans to them. Oh, and the Y connector too.

Ah! I see... hmmm I guess that the fans can plug into themselves... since they have two connectors on them each...

Some fans can be daisy chained off of one connector. You should be able to run all of your case fans off of one molex connector. If I use a case the has alot fans I just make my own harness up. It costs next to nothing to do so and you make the wires just the length you need.
