Hey, I just finished my first build, and my cooling setup looks like this.
Other the the PS Fan, and the Retail Intel Fan, I've got one exhaust fan in the back of the case, no intake fans in the front (Still following rule of thumb: have more exhausts then intake), but I still want to place an intake fan in the front of the case. However, I need help (if you already didn't know), MY mobo (Asus P4s533) only has one spot for a chassis fan with a 4 volt plug (I bought two fans with 4 volt plug), and I was wondering if there was anyway to get power to another fan for intake, from this mother board. Temps are fine (P42.4ghz: 35 C Idle 40-50 working (gaming) Mobo:35-40 depending on idle or working. I just want the intake fan, to shave off a couple degrees. Thanks |

The easiest way is to just get an adaptor and connect the fan to a PSU power cable. The only thing you'll be missing is the ability to monitor the fan's RPM.

why do you need adapters to go from fan to ps cable, or is this a specific case, other than not having enough connections on mobo.

3 pin fan connects to motherboard fan header. Requires the 3 to 4 pin power adapter to connect to a power supply power lead. 4 pin fan connects to power supply power lead. Cricket
