Case fans
i was just wondering, i have one case fan for my PC and i have it so it is blowing cool air out of the back of the PC, so i figured it must be extracting all the warm air from inside the PC & blowing it out the back, but wouldnt it keep things cooler if i was to turn the fan around & have it blowing cool air into the PC? im not really sure which way i should have the fan, can anyone tell me what the best way is, thanks.

Generally its done with a fan in the front bottom (optional) blowing cool air in, fan at the back top blowing warm air out.

No, because the power supply is also sucking out warm air and blowing it out the back. You'll just create a loop from the fan to the power supply and you'll have a nice cool PS but everthing else will be stagnant. Leave it the way it is, and either put in a front fan drawing air in, or make sure the front vents aren't blocked.

Unless you are having constant lockups you don't worry about the heat.
And if your system is Intel based, you worry even less. Intel systems run cool enough without case fans.

Hi Ashton,
Yes, the fan blowing out is good. Nuclear Krusader: Arrrrgg! AMDs don't require any special cooling. The "stock" HS/fan combo, and whatever fan(s) the case comes with will work just as good for an AMD system as it does an Intel system.TwoRails |

What Post W00t?
Ashton- You have an AMD Duron. I wouldn't worry about the temperatures until you start noticing problems. |

THough your idea sounds closer t logic,, the reality is... you want to chhannel air through the pc...
a couple of things willcool it down you you cannot attach a front intake fan to your pc.... take off side door... this will let the room tep difuse all of the couped up hot air being generated by your computer... if its inside a desk computer cubby wih a door.. take it out.... the older desks that let you "hide " your pc,, were not intended for ventilation... the olderpcs didnt really need it... clean up the wires inside the pc... if its a mess in there, ventilation is difficult/// KMART |
