ugh, cooling....

Hey, I like this case:

http://www.antec-inc.com/pro_details...p?ProdID=15000

But its only got 2 fans ports. If I put 2 Thermaltake Smart Fan II's in there (which go up to 75CFM), will it be good enough for overclocking?

I will be using a good HSF (Vantec Aeroflow) and the power supply has 2 fans.

Thanks,
Max

yay

My LAN buddy w/ a Thermaltake Xaser w/ 5 fans says 2 will not be enough

I hope to overclock my 2100+ fairly well (shooting for 2.2-2.3 ghz, maybe)

My memory will have heatsink things and my video card will be a 9700 non Pro w/ its stock fan/ heatsinks.

Thanks!! w00h00

i think you should be more worried about HSF, then see if temps are too high, if so then probably better cooling methods or new case?

Personally I have 4 fans that run non stop I would only have one but I like to keep the ambient air temp down for the Mem HD and Graphics.

But about the CPU just have a good heatsink and you could do with one fan.

with 2x smart fans, you case will be unbearably loud. they will prolly be enough to keep it cool, but still, it will be horribly loud with them running full blast.

They are adjustable.... Even if they arent at full blast will the cooling be fine??

And I do not care at all about noise, unless it is late at night... and my friend has a 7000rpm CPU fan that is almost as loud as a vacuum, as long as mine isnt quite that loud

Thanks,
Max

get a fan controller, and turn it down at night.

The SmartFan II's are adjustable.... so I guess i can just monitor temps and adjust the fans accordingly, and I'll probably turn em all the way up when gaming.

Just watching out for my PC while overclocking....

Thanks,
Max
