Question AMD HS/Fan Recomendation

I have a 1.2 T-Bird on a Epox 8K7A mobo using a Vantec 6027D for cooling.
The temps are OK, 37C at idle but its just to loud.

I'm looking for a quieter cooling set up that will keep this space heater cool.
Recomendations??

Carl

Hi Kubie,

Does that Vantec have the Delta38? You could keep the heatsink and just replace the fan with a Delta30 or another 60mm fan (like a Sunon or Panaflo). The temps will be higher, but at least the noise level will drop.

Do you have a CompUSA near you? If you do they have a plastic funnel looking device that allows you to install an 80mm fan in place of the 60 mm fan. Then you get less noise with about the same air flow.
For a replacement heatsink, I have been using the Speeze units that are tapered to mount on the socket but the expand in size to use an 80mm fan. Really quiet and do a real good cooling job. They are 8 bucks from newegg.

Cricket,
I want my cake and eat it too. I want quiet with decent cooling. This system will be for gaming.

morris,
I'll check out my local CompUSA and Newegg.

Thanks fellas for pointing me in the right direction.

Oh, in that case take a look at the Thermalright SK-7 or SLK-800...both are all copper heatsinks that take 80mm fans. They've been getting really good reviews.
