Flashing BIOS....

I read an article on flashing the BIOS so I thought I would try on my old Dell system. It's the same system in the article except that my processor is faster. My current BIOS version is A05 I think and the most current one is A11. Thats the same one that was downloaded in the article. I followed the directions in the article which were basicly the same as Dell's. However, I downloaded the file on my new pc which has XP and saved it to floppy. When I tried to boot it in my Dell it wouldn't boot. Just says remove disc and hit any key. I tried the floppy in the Dell and it will read it. But it won't boot from it. The floppy is the first boot drive, I checked. What could be the problem? Would the NTSF file system used in XP have anything to do with it?

Go to Bootdisk.com and download the BIOS Flash disk. Make the disk with the file, then copy the BIOS update and Flashing program to the floppy.
If you use a regular boot disk you will not have room for the update.
