i now have 900megs left but when i take old programs mp3's i can get 2-3 gigs back but when i check later in the day or even the next day it is down to the megs again....i did disk defrag..scandisk...erased by history... deleted temp. internet files...etc...and gain space but then i changes again...(other users do not download anything...just me)

Have you tried scanning for viruses?

Are you on a broadband connection and do you have a firewall?

Let me suggest that you should get one. ZoneAlarm and Sygate are free ones you can download.

I'm guessing that you either have a virus or someon'e storing their stuff on your comp. You may want to check aroud for things that don't belong.

I don't mean to scare you; I'm sure there are a few other possibilites.

If you are using WinXP or ME, your system restore could be eating it up.
