format HD partitions
I have a 20 gig HD with 2 partitions. Win 98 SE is on "C"
and Win XP is on "D". I want to do a wipe and reload of Win 98SE only. I do not want to do touch my XP part. How do I do that? Thanks, Katie |

Startup on a 98 bootdisk and at the A:\ Prompt type Format C: and hit enter. It will only format the C partition.

Hi Katie and welcome to the PC Mech forums!
![]() I have a question about this: what will it happen to dual booting since the boot.ini file is stored in C as far as I know?

If you do that, you will have to reinstall 98, then boot with the XP cd and do a repair to put the boot menu back in.
