Question Ocr

I am unable to locate the software that came with my hp officejet 710 all in one printer. I am unable to scan and then change text without OCR....Is there any place where I can download the needed software?

Below is what I got from hp.com

NOTE: ReadIRIS OCR must be installed to perform optical character recognition. This software is only available from an original HP installation CDROM. Downloaded software and drivers that are included in some operating systems do not contain this software.

It is not possible to OCR pages into an e-mail program using the Scan to Email or Send functions. If text is desired in an e-mail application, perform an OCR operation to a supported word processing application and use the Cut and Paste commands to move it to the e-mail program. ReadIRIS only works with word processing applications.

ReadIRIS OCR will only process multiple pages with HP all-in-one products equipped with an Automatic Document Feeder (ADF). Other OCR programs that can be purchased separately may provide this functionality without an ADF.

For best results, be sure to set the scan resolution to at least 300 dpi.

If you have lost your original CD, you can buy a replacement from HP for around $10, both online and phone ordering is available.
