Force Win printer to work in DOS ?

Is there a way to make a Windows only printer work in DOS mode (parallel connection) ? The manufacturer says that it can't and I have to buy a printer that is design for both.

Is there a workaround way ? The application is a DOS based accounting software and it couldn't print on this new printer which is only for Windows.

When you set up the printer in windows, you usually have to select that you want it to work in DOS when you install the printer. Normally the default is for the printer not to work in DOS.
I have used my HP in DOS before.

With Windows XP not really supporting DOS, DOS printers may be getting harder to find.

What model printer is it? You will need to select a printer in the DOS app that's compatible. What version of Windows are we dealing with here?

See if Accpac has any Canon Bubblejet drivers, that's about your only chance.
