A 500W PSU for $20? Definitely pass, go with a 300/350W unit from a good brand like Enermax, Antec, or Sparkle (if you're on a budget).

a 500w psu for $20 is extremely cheap which means it will be of poor quality. If u want a good value psu but which is still reasonable quality try the "Q-tec Dual Fan gold" they cost more but much less than enermax or antec.

Yes definately do NOT buy one of colorcases' power supplies. I'm having to replace the one I got from them because it isn't generating enough 3.3v voltage :\

As for the case, go for it. They were a little slow getting it to me, and rarely answer emails, but they have very nice cases

I've heard horror stories about non-brandname/psus other than enermax, enlight, antec, sparkle... that they blow up :-O Guess it's best to stick with them though they are pricey

yea thats about how long it took to get mine. have you received it since your last post?

and yes, I'd return the psu unit if its not too much trouble. If you're still waiting for your case to get there, I'd go ahead and order a quality psu now. You'll probably receive it about the same time you get your case. Then you can just send back the cheap psu and get ur money back =) Trust me, when you finally discover that your psu is defective or has gone bad, it will most likely be too late to send it back. Thats what happened to me and I ended on wasting $30 for it...

Just check around newegg or pricewatch... I purchased a 350wt Enermax for around $50 which isn't too bad.

I'm still waiting for the case to get here....
I called up colorcases to get the tracking number for ups and they said it didn't even leave the place yet. I asked if I could get the psu removed and he said no problem so thats all taken care of.

gonna go for the sparkle 350watt over at newegg for 39!

good choice =) , and good luck with colorcases. You got further than me with contacting them. I couldn't even get em on the phone or receive and response from them via email. :\
