Speeze Heatsink
I have a spire/ speeze heatsink and fan. The heatsink and fan combo really doesn't seem to be cooling the processor very well. I touch the very bottom of the heatsink fins and the temperature is ice cold to the touch. The temps that I get form the motherboard is around 50C 106 F. I have the AMD athlon XP 1700+ palamino and that seems a little warm. I am using the thermal greese that came preinstalled on the heatsink, should I be using something else? Thanks

50C is OK. If you get concerned, go into BIOS under Chipset Features and set a warning for 65C and a shutdown at 70C and enjoy your PC.

A good heatsink will be fairly cool as it means it is doing it's job. ONe that is hot is retaining heat and not giving it up fast enough.
