Intel D845PEBT2 install ?
I've been setting here fighting with this thing for awhile - thought I'd see if anyone here had some thoughts.
To start off with I installed win2k then the intel chipset drivers and then the rest of the drivers provided for this board. According to intel this board natively supports usb 2.0. So, my first problem is that I keep getting a Mass Storage Controller error. All drives seem to work fine and if I unistall it from device manager it just comes back. Secondly, there seems to be a problem with the usb. The board supports 6 usb ports - 4B, 2F. Device manager shows the following: PCI to USB Enhanced Host Controller (3) Universal Host Controllers USB 2.0 Root Hub (3) USB Root Hubs What happens is that I can only get the usb ports to work when I unistall the enhanced host controller but it reinstalls on the next boot as it does if I uninstall all the usb entries. Any ideas?

http://www.intel.com/support/motherb...isable_usb.htm Do you have Win2K SP3 installed yet? The mass storage controller is your SATA RAID controller. http://www.intel.com/support/motherb...2/satadrv1.htm http://www.intel.com/support/motherb...2/satadrvr.htm |

Yes - the win2k disk I bought for the customer has SP3 already on it.
I know about the enable/disable of the usb2.0 in the bios but I want it enabled so it can be used. Almost seems as if it has a couple usb drivers fighting against each other as when I disable/uninstall the enhanced host controller or the usb2.0 hub (getting rid on one gets rid of the other) then the usb works but seems about the same speed as my machine that has usb1.1. I'll just uninstall the SATA as it is not needed for the current configuration - I just figured I would install it for possible future use. Thanks. Last edited by PardeGT; 03-31-2003 at 08:22 PM. |
