RAM question

This question deals with some old RAM that a friend of mine gave me. It's a stick of PC100 ECC. My system uses non-ECC PC100 RAM (yes, I know that it's an old system but it works for me: ). I have 256mb and would like to know if I can use this ECC RAM stick (it's 128mb) to bring the RAM in my system to 384mb. In a nut shell, can one use ECC RAM with non-ECC RAM?

Thanks!

No not usually, most mobo's won't support the ECC memory at all anyway. RAM is so cheap now if you want more you can pick it up pretty cheap. You might be able to get someone to trade you but generally only those with server chipsets can use the ECC memory.

I agree with Tuf. I don't think they will work together.
