Unhappy Hard Drive compatibility

Is a Quantum Atlas II 4GB Wide Ultra SCSI HDD Hard Drive compatible with the Albatron KX400+ Motherboard? I'm new and all these terms are getting to me... Thanks to anyone who can help.

The only way that that hard-drive would be compatable with that motherboard is if you bought a scsi contorller card. The motherboard only has IDE channels and the hard drive runs on SCSI.

Okay, so I need compatible IDE and SCSI channels between the two. How do I tell if the ATA is compatible?

I'd forget that drive - considering it's only 4gb, the cost of a SCSI controller card is more than the whole drive is worth. You can buy an IDE hard drive with much larger capacity for less than the cost of the SCSI card.

Question

Would a 40GB EIDE Ultra ATA/100 7200RPM Barracuda Hard Drive be compatible with the Athlon KX400+ Motherboard? Would it be a good choice?

Any IDE ATAxxx drive would be compatable. My preferences are towards Maxtor and Western Digital. I've never cared for Seagate IDE hard drives as they have always seemed to run too hot for my liking.
