ASUS P4PE or P4G8X Deluxe

I'm trying to decide b/w the P4PE or P4G8X Deluxe , and my choice is mostly based on RAM.

P4PE 1.5G Max - 3 Slots
PC2700/2100 but if you have 2 PC2700, the third is disabled

P4G8X Deluxe (+$70) 4G Max - 4 Slots
PC2100/1600

Any Suggestions?

Go with the P4G8X, while it only officially supports PC2100, it's dual channel which is a better performance gain. You could probably also put in the faster RAM anyway, overclock and run async.

Would the performance be better w/ OCd PC2700 running 1 channel?

To give a comparison to go by, PC2700 DDR runs neck and neck with PC800 RDRAM, dual channel PC2100 runs just shy of PC1066 RDRAM.
