Lexmark Printer/cartridge Problem

Hi,

I have a lexmark Z65 printer, the colour cartridge needed changing so i refilled it with ink, when i installed the cartridge the printer asked if it was a new or old cartridge that i was replacing,i clicked new now the colour wont work at all.
Are thse cartridges chipped if so is there a work around to this problem.I've got a new colour cartridge but wary of using this in case same problem.
any info appreciated.

I'm not sure what difference it would have made, but shouldn't U have told it that it was an old cartridge. Only other thing I can think of is to take it back out and get a soft lint free alcohol wipe and gently clean the nozzle off with it...

Yes i suppose i should have told it that it was it's old cartridge, but i didnt want it reminding me that the ink levels where low every time i printed.
the ink in the cartridge has'nt dried up as i refilled before i really needed to.

Maybe since U have refilled this one before it could have reached it's usefull life for that one cartridge, I suppose I would put the new one in and if it works U know it's just a problem with that old cartridge...

I have a Lexmark Z32 inkjet printer and have been using refill kit on cartridges for awhile, sometimes you have to play around with things for it to work, change settings, take cartridge in and out, clean print nozzle heads, ect... I'll admit that this is not the most ideal thing to do, but it is still cheaper then getting new ones.

Ignore it is probably the best option. You can manually go in and check ink levels, that'll probably give you a better indicator of what they actually are. Try refreshing the printer status, or disconnecting then reconnecting the printer, or rebooting your computer, or restarting both printer and computer.
