Am I running too hot?

Here are some PC Specs:

Operating System - Windows XP Professional Service Pack 1 (build 2600)

Processor - 1666 megahertz AMD Athlon XP
128 kilobyte primary memory cache
256 kilobyte secondary memory cache

Main Circuit Board - Board: Gigabyte Technology Co., LTD 7DX 1.x
Bus Clock: 133 megahertz
BIOS: Award Software International, Inc. 6.00 PG 04/11/2002

Video card is a Radeon 9000 128mb AGP

I idle at: CPU Temp. 53 C and System Temp. 27 C

53C is a little warm for the idle temperature, but as long as the system is stable, no crashes or lock ups, theres nothing to worry about. If you want to get cooler temps, add some fans. The recommended setup is one fan in the front pulling air in, and one in the rear pulling air out. What is the fan set up in your PC?

I often get taken to a blue screen that says....

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

Then at the bottom it has:

Technical Information:

*** STOP: 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0xBF804C8E, 0xEE501834, 0x00000000)

*** win32k.sys - Address BF804C8E base at BF800000, Datestamp 3db6d462

Dont know if that could deal with the temperature...Think if I upgraded my heatsink and fan on my processor would help?

The BSOD is not related to overtemps, you need to do a Google search for win32k.sys and pick the one that applies to your problem.

The latest Athlon XP builds that I had registered at peaks 63 to 64 degrees C in the BIOS [CPU Temperature] but even with that, they are still very stable. Didn't even crash or hanged up even after hours of gaming.
