Keyboard freezes and occasional crashes

This is on a receptionists workstation that has an Abit BE6-II with a 1 gig PIII on it. This computer replaces another that was having similar problems in the same location at the business.
XPpro in installed and one business software application. That's it.
Sometimes 3 times in a day and sometimes 2 days out of the week this workstation will freeze up with blue screen and reboot.
Today it would not boot until power cord was unplugged for 5 seconds then replugged. Then after 2-4 hours of operation the keyboard will be frozen. During boot, before unplugging, the num lock light would not flash.
I figured maybe some kind of stray voltage and went out an bought a UPS for it at lunch but it froze up again this afternoon.
Now I don't know what to try. Any suggestions?

Have you kept the same KB+M ?

If you have I would, use another set, and see if you get the same problem.

If I can get the staff to stop, I will write it down the next time we get a blue screen. Usually I'm told after the fact.
