AMS gMono case

I just got an AMS gMono case (black) from newegg. I put a computer in it that I had running out of the case for a couple of months.
What I put in it:
IWill Motherboard
Athlon XP 1600
Volcano 6 HSF
512mb PC133
Radeon 7500
Intel 10/100 Nic
4x2x32 CDRW
20GB Seagate 7200RPM HDD

Anyway, here are my impressions:

Good:

Painted with a high gloss car paint, which means that it had a mirror black finish out of the box. It has a piece of plexiglass(?) over the front, which lights up blue with the power light. It is a very sleek looking case at first glance with the paint, glass, and the chrome buttons.

Roomy enough inside to get things done, but definately not a big space hog in my den. 19" D x 17 " H
Came with one fairly quiet case fan. Room for 1 more 80mm in the back, and a 120mm in the front.

Fairly quiet as far as cases go. I didn't notice any excess vibration or fan noise.

Fronts USB, speaker, and Firewire port.

Bad:

Its still a little heavy, since its a steel case, but not nearly as heavy as my Chieftech / Antec cases.

It doesn't use drive rails, which makes installation a lot easier, IMO. No need to take off both sides of the case when using drive rails.

Pick up fingerprints easily. May be a high maintenance case to maintain the visual appeal.

Conclusion:

I would use this case again for users who won't be doing any upgrades or repairs for themselves. It is a nice little case with great visual appeal. It would be great for a den or living room with very modern styling.

I would recommend it at the level of Enermax case for useability, but below Enlight / Antec for features and ease of installation.

I know this is an old thread, but I am looking to buy this case for my build...

One reviewer on Newegg said that he was unable to use the front USB's with his flash drive due to the design of the front panel....Anyone else had this problem?

Here's the Link

having looked at the pictures, it depends on the flash drive you are using. Some are bluky and have rubber casings that I could see as a problem. Get one of the slimmer less blky flash drive and you should be ok

I don't see why a flash drive wouldn't be able to plug into those ports, unless the plastic around the plug was much bigger than the ones I've used. I have a Sandisk 256mb flash drive that plugs into the front USB ports just fine.

The only big complaints that I have are that if you are using an optical drive in the lowest external bay, it will get in the way of the motherboard installation or removal. The back I/O shield is not the standard size, so if you have to put in the one that comes with your motherboard, it will be loose. Mine is duct taped into place from the inside of the case.

The really nice thing is that it is a very sturdy and quiet case. Looks very nice, too, IMO.
