Ethernet Light Stays Lit On Laptop Card Even When Not Connected
I recently bought a D-Link combination modem/network card. The light on the network connection stays on all the time even when the cat 5 rj45 cable is not plugged in to it. D-Link support isn't sure if this is normal or not and told me to just take it back. The light on this card is very noticeable because it is much bigger than the tiny light on a regular noncombo card. I was wondering if anyone knows about this problem.
Also, when I pull out the card after I shut down, the card seems pretty hot. Is that normal? Last edited by Harry; 04-30-2003 at 03:08 PM. |

how hot? like burning your hands hot, i would think it would be hot because of the light being on all the time,
try updating your drivers for it and see if it helps with the light. maybe the light just means that it is plugged in
