How do you format a single partition HD with windows 2000?

I want to sell my old laptop hard drive but I first need to clean it completely and format it. How do I do this? I have windows 2000 set up on it right now and tried right click and format but it won't let me do it.

How can I format it?

You cannot format the drive Windows is installed to within Windows.

You need to boot from the Windows CD and proceed to format from there.

Yes, just format, then abort the setup.
It won't be bootable or anything though.
Could be a big problem for the next owner to find drivers for the hardware, unless you're including the original disks.
