Antec cases are good, but what about this Chieftec case?

Don’t you think the door will get in the way?

I helped a friend build a system using that exact Chieftec case and it's pretty nice, just as good as the Antec. Make sure you get a good Antec PSU with either case though.

Antec does not make their own cases. However, one thing to think about is the power supply. You can get the Antec case with the Antec power supply. This may actually save packaging and handling costs. Antec power supplies are really top rated. It is really all a matter of taste and preference. Both use the same case designs for some of their cases.

The Antec and the Chieftec both come with 2 fans but the Antec has the option to add a fan to the side door. This can be bad or good. If you want peace and quiet this can be bad. Antec does make another case designed for more quiet however.

Go with the antec if you can. The antec can have a fan on the side door, which is a very nice feature imo. You don't seem to be getting one with a free ps, so it is really a matter of your opinion and which case YOU like better.

I have that chieftec case (except the one without the power supply) and I LOVE it!!! It is very very well built. There are no sharp edges inside the case...and it looks great! See the link in my signature for some pics of my case (I only have dark ones with interior lights on for now). I don't have any complaints about the Chieftec case.

My comments were meant for the 2 cases that were being compared. Chieftec also makes cases with fans on the doors. If anyone has bought both kinds of cases, what makes the Antec Case Better? Give specifics.

They are in effect IDENTICAL.

The only difference is the colour. Being essentially the same case, I can say that they are a dream to work on. Plenty of room to get your hands in and very roomy.

I have the Antec, only mine was not supplied with all the carrying stuff (by choice).

Beautiful cases.

i can also vouch for this case design being excellent, not too big and plenty of room to get your elbows in when your doing something which requires contortion

they have drvie rails, a handy area to store them on the floor of the case, latch release removeable 3.5" drive cages, hey if you arent filling them, they are just hindering airflow
areas for 5 case fans, should you feel like it
really nice case,

basically, which one is cheaper and which case front detail do you like better?

Well the Chieftec is $75 including shipping, and the Antec is $76 including shipping. The nice thing about the Antec one is the free case strap harness and it comes with the nice retail box. On the other hand, the Chiefttec is OEM, it only includes screws and those drive rails. I'm kind of leaning toward the Antec one, but the small side panel window is the only thing I hate about it.

Btw, the door won't bother me much because I dont use a lot of programs or games that requires a CD or DVD

Yeah!, that's the Chieftec case, but mine is blue. It does look really nice with a big window like that. I'm going to put a cold cath in it too. The Antec's window looks kind of small dont you think?

Yeah, get the Cheiftec. It's a great case and I love the window! I've got a blue cold cathode and some LED fans and they look great!

I have the Blue Cheiftec Case for my new machine, the side door came with a fan also got 2 fans in the rear of the case. Its a very cool case, easy to work with.

One little "problem" if you can call it that with the case is the hard drive bay sits right across from the AGP slot, means each time you need to do any work on the hard drives you have to yank the graphix card out.

Something to keep in mind

hmm, i like my chieftec case, just a couple of problems tho.
sometimes your door will not close perfect cuz one of the cage levers will be to "out" and will push againt the window BUT theres a fix...just get some sand paper and sand it down perfect.
