i have to buy new ram when i upgrade my system next week. i am upgrading to the Chaintech 7NJS-ZENITH mainboard and i have to buy new ram becuase i use pc133 right now in my mainboard and not DDR. the thing i need to know is what CL stands for when talking about ram...the ram i am thinking of buy is this:
KINGSTON KVR333X64C25/512 512MB 32x64 PC2700 DDR RAM (better than 2100 2400) 6 Layers High Quality Board; CL 2.5; 184-Pin Unbuffered. Requires DDR supported Motherboard what does the CL 2.5 mean? i have included a link to the mainboard so you can see what i am talking about. thanks http://www.newegg.com/app/Showimage....152-011-09.jpg |

Hi,
CL means CAS Latency. Buying ram with CL 2.5 means that ram has a CAS Latency of 2.5. Here's a nice page on the Corsair website that explains CAS Latency: http://www.corsairmemory.com/main/trg-cas.html HTH |
