Restarting computer - Blue screen message

Hi, I recently wrote about restarting computer.
Now I wrote down the blues screen messages:

{Stop 0x0000000A or IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
The Stop 0xA message indicates that a kernel-mode process or driver attempted to access a memory location to which it did not have permission, or at a kernel interrupt request level (IRQL) that was too high. A kernel-mode process can access only other processes that have an IRQL lower than, or equal to, its own. This Stop message is typically due to faulty or incompatible hardware or software.}

and

{Stop 0x000000D1 or DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
The Stop 0xD1 message indicates that the system attempted to access pageable memory using a kernel process IRQL that was too high. Drivers that have used improper addresses typically cause this error.}

Because I forgot to write down what drivers and what devices are causing the problems is there any file that contains this message
I mean, can I see somewhere in computer menagment the text of the blue screen message.
I have Windows XP Pro

What do you recommend to solve this problem?

MoBo - ASUS A7N266VM-A
CPU - AMD XP 2000+
256 MB PC 2100 Crucial
Optorite 52x CDRW
Maxtor 30 GB

It may sound crazy but I was getting a similar problem when my RAM was going south for the winter. Other than that, I'm at a loss. Can you swap out your DDR sticks and rule that out?

What kind of peripherals do you have? webcam, joystick, modem, scanner, etc?

You should be able to see this under Event Viewer, which you will find in the Admin Tools.

Have you tried a repair of XP?, or a roll back?

From my understanding, this is def a driver issue.

Well, you should at least hit Windows Update and download the necessary OS updates.

I had that message on a new build with Asus P4PE mobo and since reseating memory modules it hasn't reoccurred. You might also try using different ram slots or swapoing out ram.

Have you disabled Auto Reboot in XP to give yourself time to see the BSOD and write down the drivers involved?

Start > Control Panel > Settings > System (in the Classic-style

Start menu, Control Panel is under Settings).

Click Advanced > System And Recovery > Settings.

In the System Failure section, clear the Automatically Restart

check box, then click OK.

Also I noted from one of your previous posts that you had installed a new Volcano HSF. Have you checked your CPU temp to make sure it's not too high?

Go into the BIOS when the PC is starting and sit there for 30 mins. What is your CPU and Motherboard/System temp after 30 mins?

If the CPU temp is too high, then that could cause the reboots. This could be caused by the HSF not being fitted properly.

Did the HSF come with a Thermal Pad stuck to the bottom of the heatsink? Did you remove the protective paper from the Thermal Pad before installing the HSF on the CPU?

I too have been having similar issues. XP pro locks up about once a month or so, with the IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error, and also with a PNL_LIST_CORRUPT error (which I can find nothing about in the MS knowledgebase).

I'm running a Celeron 1400 (S370) with 512 megs of PC133 on an Abit ST6 MB. I have a SB Live! 5.1 (just got it though, and had this issue before it was installed), 2 NIC's, a 3Com to my cable modem and an Intel running a crossover network to my son's PC, I have an Aopen GF4 Ti4200 and a Texas Instruments Firewire card with a Umax Astra 6400 scanner attached.

My system runs at what I would consider very hot temps. Normal board temp is 40-45c, and normal CPU temp is 50-55c. I've done everything I know of to make it run cooler and nothing helps. I have an 80mm case fan in the front, and also a drive bay cooler with 3 40mm fans in the front, I have the stock Intel HSF with Artic Silver II, and I have the PS and an 80mm fan pulling air out the back. Nothing changes the temps. Removing the side panel doesn't help either. I have not seen a CPU temp under 50c ever on this board unless it was when I just turned it on. I do not think my system is overheating, because several of the times when it blue screened during the middle of the night, it was on cool nights when it was actually 10-15 degrees cooler than normal in my room and the CPU temp was several degrees cooler than normal (like 51c instead of it's normal 55c). I think this Abit board just runs hot, if that's possible.

As for the lockups, I have no idea. I've run a bunch of different RAM testers and none has found any problems. It has happened several times in the middle of the night when the PC was just "on". So I'm not sure what to do, other than just say "oh well" and deal with it later if it gets worse.
