Pissed My Second Drive Disappeared

I was trying to recover files that had been erased when my comp crashed. I was using a program I downloaded from cnet to try to recover delted pictures. The drive has been partionioned and formated but it still pulled up some of the deleted files. Wow this is great but, not. While it recovered the files, it took over my drive and now I cant access it. It shows up only when I restart and when I look in the device mananger but know way to get to it in my computer file. The program said to install and run the program on a seperate drive and scan the drive you lost files on, I did that and now my seperate drive is gone. What can I do? I tried formating it but it only shows one volume an 8 megs of unpartitioned space, I dont want to delete my current drive with windows xp on it. I could get it back if I format c but then I have to start all over again and I just now getting back to what I had. My burner died so I cant copy files to it. I have no back up program and system restore cant restore the drive for some reason.

Thanks,
Robert Hamblen

Sounds like you have 2 hard drives in your PC.

Since you have recovered the files, you may have to run fdisk and besure to select the correct drive and then repartition the crashed drive and then you should be able to format it.

JUST be very very careful not to fdisk your main C drive.
inside fdisk you should see both your C drive and your 2nd hard drive.
you will probably have to tell them apart by the disk sizes.

list the program you used to recover the files, someone might have an undo Idea if they have the programs name.
