p4 packing
i just bought a p4 processor and the dealer only gave me the processor and heatsink w/ fan...are there any other things that i should have rather than this? like cd for p4 or manual..etc..

Depends, did you buy oem or a retail package. If you bought a retail package then it should have come in a sealed box, with the processor, heatsink and fan along with a manual. If you bought oem then its usually just the proccessor, but your dealer may be selling the proccessor with the heatsink and fan as part of a combo.
If you bought oem what you have sounds normal, however if you bought retail then you are definitely missing the manual and sealed box. |

OEM us just the CPU, so he gave you some kinda package deal, not sure what... is it an actual Intel fan? Retail boxed includes the CPU, heatsink and fan, a cheesy little instruction manual and the Intel Inside sticker. OEM's have a 30 day warranty, retail units have a 3 year warranty.

The "manual" basically just tells you that the processor is intended to be professionally installed and has the warranty certificate.

Edit: Never mind, I did get a sticker, I just didn't open the plastic bag with the manual it.

i dont really know if i bought a OEM or Retail...
anyway its ok i tot theres a CD (software) for the processor.. thanks! |

There's no software required. If you bought retail, it's in an Intel blue and white box with warranty certificate and Intel sticker. If you didn't get these things, you bought OEM.
