greedo Fan Controller: Digital Doc 5

I recently purchased a Digital Doc 5 for temp monitoring and fan control. The instructions that come with it show only one power connection for the item, whereas my actual piece of hardware has two, one labled pwrcon 1 (this one had the power connector to it) and pwrcon 2 (this one is empty). I was just wondering if anyone knows what the second power is for? I plan on monitoring the Cpu heatsink, the psu heatsink (just because it has 8 sensors), the RAM, the HDs, the northbridge heatsink, video card heat sink, and cd burner (just for info again). It came with "heat tape" that I assume will not screw up electronics. Is this true?
