A while ago (1 year?) I saw USB memory keys advertised, that were basically floppy disks you plugged into a usb. they held 25 or 50 mb. I went to futureshop, and they have never heard of them. Anyone know who manufacturers them, or where they are available for sale?

Like glc said, you can pretty much get them anywhere, even office stores like OfficeMax or Staples. Various brands make them...Lexar seems to stand out in my mind for some reason.

Yes-usb is everywhere but make sure you know what you are getting. If you want the fastest-try finding those that support usb 2.0. You are using windows? Then there is storage. I suggest getting 128mb and above-I just bought mine a month ago and its just 2 inches long. Very small and powerful. Lastly look for compatibility with other OS-mine is only compatible with mac os 9.0 and above. (I didn't notice that).
Do not buy the 1gb drives cause expensive-wait for the prices to go down

I read in Computer Shopper that the new Iomega USB drives will not only let you store information on them but also let you RUN applications straight from the device! Now THAT is cool.
There is also the MuVo which combines a pretty cool MP3 player with a small USB storage device. Just make sure that you upgrade your firmware to the most recent version to make it more stable. I like things that multi-task. |
