iBook display's

This won't affect you guy's but I thought it was cool. The Apple iBook out of the box only supports Video Mirroring to an external monitor, but I wanted to expand my desktop at a higher res on the external. The 12" iBook screen is great for 1 app at a time, but gets limiting with 2 or 3 running. I figured it was possible to drive a separate monitor at higher res as the 12"powerbook supports expanded desktop and they both use the same video etc... So I got to rooting through the boot rom on a 12" powerbook, found the "nvedit" options and made a couple of tests. Bottom line is, I now am driving an external VGA @ 1280x1024 (excellent for premier/photoshop) AND the iBook LCD @ 1024x768 native

Kinda wondering why this was disabled from the factory, but I usually seem to find a way around these things. Don't try this yourself unless you know how to flash the PRAM and are comfortable hacking the boot rom, as I had a dead iBook there for a minute.

Oem , I got a Power Pc G3 recently. It's a 300 meghrtz with 256 megs of ram. Apple's web site says it good enough to run jaguar but ........ would it really be usable or just to slow?

It would be to slow im afraid. My G3 400 w/512 ram does run Jaguar, but it's sluggish. Stick with 9 on that system is prob the best bet.
