CD-RW & DVD-ROM which should be Master & Slave???

Read the documentation for each drive (if you got any) and see if it really matters to either drive.
I'd make the burner the master and then other drive the slave. Cricket

Or if you are using 80 wire ATA66/100/133 cables, then you should be able to jumper both to Cable Select.
If you copy on the fly, then you may consider putting one optical drive on each ATA channel. This will not affect any HDs sharing the channel. All devices will run at their rated speed. |
