partitioning

iwant to partition my hd so that i can save some files when i format drifve c but i can figure out how

Go to drive management if you have xp or 2k, and try to use that to do what you want. If you have 98/me you will need something like partition magic or another partitioning agent. This stuff is real tricky so be carefull. RTFM...

Unless you have unallocated free space on the HD (which would be unusual, unless you partitioned only part of the HD) then your best bet is to use Partition Magic.

Therefore, if your HD is partitioned as one large partition, then PM will allow you to shrink the size of that partition and create another partition in the freed up space.

If you're using XP, then you'll need version 7. So check the box before you buy.
