Digicam Resolution
I'm going to buy myself a digital camera, but I'm not sure what resolution to get. Its going to be used mainly for photographing electronics and computer projects I do for articles and such, so it doesn't need to be that good. I'd also like to keep the cost down, definitely below 250 and preferably below 150. I've found some pretty nice deals on 2mp cameras, I'm just not sure how good 2mp is.
Is there any place that has a bunch of pictures taken and tells the resolution of the camera used? Because I've never used a digicam before I'm really at a loss as to what the different resolutions mean in practice. Or could someone who has a 2mp camera take a picture and post it so I can see if I want to get a higher resolution one? Thanks! |

Go to the link below and take a look at some of the factory refurbished cameras thay have. The are refurbed by the manufacture and usually come with a 1 year factory warranty.
Good way to get a quality brand with upto date specs for a good price. http://www.compgeeks.com/products.asp?cat=CAM |

The Kodak CX4300 looks like a rather attractive deal, I was actually considering the CX4200 for about the same price new, but I'd be happy to get a refurbished one for an extra megapixel.
Now for the memory, what are the practical differences between the SD and MMC memory it supports? Which one would anybody recomend? And, how do I figure out how many pictures I can store with a 3.2MP camera on a given size memory card? |

SD (Secure Digital) and MMC (Multimedia Card) are a little larger than a postage stamp. I purchased a 128 MB SSD from Costco for around 68 bucks and can get right at 20 minutes of video on it or 300 plus stills.

One of the best camera review site I've found.
www.steves-digicams.com offers sample photos from all cameras reviewed. |

I bought the refurbished Kodak CX4300 from compgeeks, along with a 128MB SD memory card. I like it very well so far, all of the controls are fairly simple, it came with batteries included, and the pictures are good quality.
Here is a quick pic I took to test out the camera (cropped to a half megabyte). Excuse the part of the desk that made it into the pictures, as you can see I haven't cleaned it latlely
