Can't format C:\ drive
When I use FDISK to partition my hard drive, and then format the C:\ drive, it almost finishes the task. About 92%, and then I'll get this DOS pop up, (Trying to recover allocation unit 45,246). (Not ready) (Format terminated).
How do I correct this problem? |

You possibly have a bad hard drive, go to the manufacture's website and download/run the diagnostic tools. Hopefully the drive is still under warranty.

Ew....This is not something that can just easily be repaired. It really does sound like your hard drive is bad or going bad. Like morriswindgate said, it is a good idea to download the drive utilities. If it is possible, then you could even partition the hard drive in a way that it doesn't use the bad sector. The partition would be smaller, yes, but you would be able to use that hard drive.
