Unhappy CD-Rom Not Recognized.

I know this drive works.. I just removed it from a system and it was working. the jumper is set to Master. It is the only CD Drive. all the cables are tight. Power is geting to it... the door functions and the light.

I just removed another CD-Rom from the same position and the same thing is happening with both... (i.e. NADA) I know they are both good.
It is not seen on the boot up nor on the device manager.

I have something set wrong or hooked up wrong... ?
I have hooked up many of these... I don't get it.

Could be the IDE controller is either disabled in the BIOS or it is blown...
Or check the first page of your BIOS for the IDE settings for that IDE port which is probably secondary master...U want CDROM or AUTO....

Are all the IDE controllers seen in device manager? Have you installed all applicable motherboard drivers?

I know you've solved your CD-Rom problem, but you might want to boot into Safe Mode and see if there are extra listings (Ghosts) for your CD-Rom or other devices in Device Manager.

Always a good idea to delete these as they can cause problems.
