Question WLAN problem thru USB hub, in win2kpro

I have 2 computers networkd using a wireless lan. The desktop (pentium 2 450Mhz HP 8390) thru USB, is hooked up to adsl (bt broadband), not using the usb hub. The laptop (Dell latitude, 1.2Ghz) was networked thru WLAN to the desktop. On the desktop I had a USB hub to which my WLAN adapter was connected. At that point I had win98 on the desktop and win2k pro on the laptop. It all worked fine. (The Hub is a 4 port powered belkin).

I then got a worm virus, and had to reformat the HD on the desktop, so I installed win2kpro (in order to enable Internet connect share w/o 3rd party sw)on the desktop aswell, and try to reinstall all other equipment and SW.

When booting up, I was not able to "see" the desktop from the laptop. So I tried each usb device seperately and directly (not via hub) into the computer. They all worked fine. But as I need to have the ADSL in one USB port it only leaves 1 other free. So I tried to hook the Wlan (Linksys, WUSB11) thru the Usb hub and it does not seem to work. The lights are on, and the icon (on bottom right) indicates it's operative.

The sandisk card reader worked thru the hub, so it seems like the hub ok!??

Can this be a win2kpro issue? Is it a hub issue? Or is it a WLAN issue( which it should not be, since it worked thru the hub b4!?) ?

What can I do, to enable me using the Wlan on the hub?
